Maura graduated from the University of Vermont in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy.  She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings and specializes in sports and orthopedic rehab for people of all ages and activity levels.  She has attained a certification in the Postural Restoration approach to rehab and is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.  She enjoys hiking, biking, running and telemark skiing in her free time.

Pamela has over 20 years of office management experience including project management for the Vermont Alcohol Research Center. This coming spring will be her 7-year anniversary with Momentum. Her organizational skills and attention to detail make her an excellent liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, reading, traveling (especially spur of the momentum motorcycle trips). She lives in Burlington with her boyfriend, her son Sam, and their cat Flash, and dog Maddie.

Abby graduated from Penn State University in 1998 with an Associates of Science in Physical Therapy Assistance.  In her 10 years of clinical experience, she has obtained extensive knowledge in treating people of all ages with orthopedic and sports-related injuries.  She has advanced continuing education in the Postural Restoration approach.  Her hobbies include running, biking, hiking, and cross-country skiing.

Emma Ernst, DPT
Emma graduated from the University of Vermont in May 2011 with a Clinical Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. She specializes in orthopedic and sports physical therapy and biomechanical running assessments.  Since graduation Emma has worked in an outpatient orthopedic practice and she enjoys incorporating Pilates-based rehabilitation techniques into her treatment programs.  Outside of work, Emma is an avid runner and also enjoys cycling, hiking, skiing and playing soccer.

Pat Cervini, PT
Pat graduated with a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from University in 1996. She began her career working with the VNA in Centeral Vermont providing physical therapy in homes, schools, and skilled nursing facilities.  In 2008, Pat received her Pilates Certification from Polestar Pilates and in 2010 she completed training as a group leader for the Tai Chi For Arthritis program sponsored by the Arthritis Foundation. Over the past year, Pat has continued to expand her knowledge base by participating in continuing education courses offered through the University of New England’s Osteopathic Medical School focusing on manual therapy skills.  Pat is a life-long learner and enjoys doing Pilates, Zumba, and TRX training when she is not reading or travelling to spend time with her daughters.

Sue Fisher, Office Administrator
Sue Fisher joined us in the spring of 2013, starting a new career change. She has several years of front desk experience from a dental office, where she gained confidence working with insurance companies, scheduling, billing and priding herself with the best possible customer service. Sue travels in from the Champlain Islands, where she lives with her husband, David, and their pets. She enjoys gardening, reading, trying new recipes and spending time with her two grown daughters when they come to visit from North Carolina and New York City. Sue is delighted to join Momentum and work with our patients to satisfy them with their scheduling and billing needs.

Caroline Stifler
Caroline graduated from the University of Vermont with a Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2013. Caroline has clinical experience across several settings and splits her time between outpatient orthopedics and school-based pediatric physical therapy. She has experience working with children and adults of all ages with a wide variety of orthopedic and neurological diagnoses. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, hiking, running, and cooking.

Vance Shug, ATC, L.L.C.
Vance Schug is a National Athletic Training Association certified athletic trainer and National Academy of Sports Medicine performance enhancement specialist. His skills include injury prevention/wellness protection, clinical evaluation, immediate/emergency care, and rehabilitation of injuries. Clients and patients most appreciate his ability to increase their level of functioning for work, play or sport whether they are a competitive athlete, recreational enthusiast or looking for guidance to improve their daily wellness. Vance’s professional background includes Head ATC at Green Mtn Valley School and Stratton Mtn School, Assistant AT at the University of Richmond, work as a performance enhancement specialist with Winter Olympic athletes, individual programming for marathon runners and years of clinical/post surgical care in the Burlington area. His background also includes Back to Golf specific swing enhancement and exercise program for golfers. Vance has excellent communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a medical/allied healthcare team. He is able to coordinate an integrated approach to injury recovery, performance and health/wellness. With an understanding of surgical procedures and rehabilitation protocols, manual recovery techniques and knowledge in designing conditioning programs, Vance can complete your recovery for a safe return from injury. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient orthopedic clinics with people of all ages and abilities. Her special interests are in sports injuries, balance retraining, and post operative rehab. She enjoys assisting people in reaching their goals by integrating postural restoration techniques as well as Pilates based movement patterns into each treatment. In her free time, she enjoys being out doors and can often be found on her mountain bike.
